Sean Nevin has to go to London this week so Gerry asked me to write the report report. (original version in French below)

A very nice ground a lovely bar, with terrace and rare February sunshine! Everyone ready to play football and to have a good after match beer. Opposition, Besace are in 3rd place in the league and if we win all the remaining matches, we could finish in 4th place: Before the game, I spoke with a player from Besace who said that they were a little afraid to play against us because they considered that we were one of the most dangerous teams in the league!!

At the start of the match, it was all very equal and we dominated the first 5 minutes and Besace dominated the next 5 minutes. The game was very close and each team had few occasions to scores. A shot from Rommel went past the post and 2 crosses from Willy, one for Gerry Cain and another for Rommel, just went wide. A few minutes later and strong sign of the Besace potential came when their number 10 shot just over the bar. The best chance came to us after a very beautiful movement in the middle from a very active Sean Nevin. He collected the ball on the left and Jesse Dixson in his Johnny Wilkinson position had a great shot that rocketed off the bar. The move merited much more!

In the 2nd half Dave Lees replaced Fran Thomas at right back. The match starts similar to the first half with no one one dominating Then Besace started to dominate the middle of the pitch. 2 further shoots from the lively 39 year old number 10 went close. Willy got brought down just outside the box down the left hand side. However, his free kick went rather high over the bar. With about 15 minutes to go a throw in down the right found the number 10 free, this time however no one could stop him get his shot in. The shot went wide to the right of the diving Marion and into the net. So 1-0 for Besace, but Sean has half a chance to equalise a few minutes later from another free kick. This also goes just over the bar. In the last few minutes, Jesse wins a ball in midfield and passes down the right to Dave Lees, his cross was slightly too high for Sean to get directly behind the ball and the header goes wide.

So the game finishes 1-0 and another match lost. The game really deserved to be drawn however not to be. It must be noted that Besace supplied one of the best refs of the season so far!

Vets one, have lost so many games by one goal since the beginning of the championship when they really merited much more, but that is football!

sean nevill pars à londre ce week end donc gerry m'a demandé d'ecrire le rapport du match que dave lees va traduire en anglais

un tres beau terrain une belle buvette,avec terasse du soleil tout pour jouer au football et boire une bonne biere apres le match besace jouer pour la 3 place et nous pour gagner tout les matchs pour finir à la 4 place; j'ai parlé avec un joueur de besace et il m'a dit que il avait eu un peu peur de jouer contre nous car il consideré que nous etions l'equipe la plus dangereuse de la serie

le debut du match etait tres equilibre on dominé 5 minutes apres besace dominé 5 minutes. le match etait tres fermé et il y avait pas beaucoup d"occasions.un tir de rommel au 1 poteau et 2 centres de willy au 2 poteau pour gerry et romel mais un peu top fort. pour besace un tir du numero 10 mais trop loin au dessus.la meilleure occassion etait pour nous un tres beau mouvement du millieu par sean nevil tres actif la balle sur la gauche et jess dixon dans sa position preferé comme johnny wilkinson en rugby . son tir tres violanttouche la transversalle du but vraiment dommage car toute l'action ete belle.

2 half dave lees remplace fran thomas a droite. le match commence comme en 1 mitemp on domine un peu puis besace domine un peu le match se joue au millieu.2 tirs du numero 10 mais tres loin au dessus pius une faute sur willy au rectangle le coup franc pour nous willy place au dessus. à 15 minutes de la fin le grand numero10 de besace pars du millieu ^personne ne peux le stoper et cette fois son tir ne passe 3 metres au dessus mais dans le coté droit de notre gardien.

c'est 1 0 pour besace il nous reste 10 minutes pour egaliser .encore un coup franc pour nous c'est sean qui le tire mais son tir passe à cote derniere minute un centre de dave lees pour sean et encore un peu trop haut pour sa tete. voila c'est finit on a perdu 1 0 .le match nul aurait ete plus logique pour besace aussi. à noter aussi que comme toujours c'est un arbitre de chez eux mais cette fois il a ete bon. combien de points perdus depuis le debut du championnat ou quand on merité de gagné le match ou au moins faire match nul on a tout perdu à la fin mais c'est le football
