My mother said cheats never win!

Strange how I was always told that cheats never win but in football sometimes, apparently, they do!

One week after an Indian summer weekend it is back to Belgian normality with the cold, the rain and the grey skies. BUFC first vets are all worked up for their game against Forestois. Sean Nevin is ready to kill after his beloved golf clubs have gone missing after a week on vacation.

With no 'real' referee Forestois are quick to volunteer their guy to ref the game. BUFC 'old boys' have some familiar faces missing but are ready for action!

As the game starts BUFC immediately dominate the early minutes but cannot penetrate the Forestois defence line. The opposition immediately show that they are happy to put everything into their defence line as they start with one man up front. Several attacks come to nothing and frustration start kicking in. Gerry Cain gets, especially, being the culprit of the abuse. He gets upended time after time after the Forestois defence go, basically, straight through the back of his legs. It is certain that some black and blue marks will show the week after. The continuous attack leaves BUFC 'keeper' Lees almost nothing to do in first half. However, the opposition do mange to get behind the defence once when a break down the left leads to a cross/shot to swerve high over the six yard box. The ball just staying in play beats everyone and lands at the feet of the right winger who's shot goes straight to the keeper.

Similar scenes in the second half as BUFC get more and more frustrated. Attack after attack lead to nothing and when a break from deep midfield leads to an awkward shot bouncing rather strangely behind keeper Lees. Nevin clears behind the keeper, his clearance however goes directly to the opposition who's toe poke floats in top corner of net off both post and bar. So 0-1 down and BUFC throws everything into attack. This leads to more and more frustration and nothing seams to going as planned. A cross from the left lands at Nevin's feet and his shot goes wide with an apparent empty goal gaping. Things rather obviously are not going to get better.

Forestois are over the moon with the result and their ruthless stopping/kicking/cheating 10 man defence tactics win the day!
