For this game, our meeting time and place had changed but not everybody paid attention to the fact that we had to meet at Diamant and not the Joyce, well only 1 person didn't and that was Jackie who arrived 25 mins late and at the Joyce. Hils and Ana were designated to go pick her up. The only problem was that Ana lost the directions that Rach had given her, so Tish said to call her when they got close to the pitch. We got to the pitch and were told that the changing rooms weren't ready yet so some decided to go in the bar and some didn't and waited in the "neutral zone". Tish then got the call from Ana saying that they were close, so Tish said that they needed to turn off at the 7th right turn. 5 mins later, Tish got another call from Ana saying that she couldn't see any numbers on the right turns, only Ana could think that there were numbers for every turn on the road.

We got in the changing room and Caz told us the tactics for the game (which was win), then we started to warm up and when we asked for some balls, the opposition took for ever to get us some. The ref wouldn't let Caz be delegue and play at the same time. In the end Franci arrived just in time or we would have had to play with 10 players.

Finally the game started. We started ok but were bunched and we were playing their game but when we pushed forward, we looked dangerous. Ale broke free on the right side of the box and was pushed to the ground but the ref gave nothing and said that it was a goal kick but it was a defo penalty. Lisa was making some good saves, one of them landed at the feet of an attacker who fired towards goal but luckily Rach was on the line to clear the ball, which then landed at the feet of another attacker but Rach managed to clear it off the line again. They tried to claim that it hit Rach's hand but she was only protecting her face.

Ana got the ball on the left and ran towards the box where she was brought down in the box but the ref wouldn't give a penalty and gave a freekick right on the edge of the box. Up steps Caz to bend the ball round the wall and put the ball in the bottom left corner, what a goal. 0 - 1

We lost our heads for 2 mins after that and they managed to score such a jammy goal, a long ball over to number 10 on the right who then just hit the ball so high and it landed on the top right corner of the goal, there was nothing Lisa could do even if she had been standing in the corner and jumped to try and get the ball. 1-1

After that they didn't really have any chances because the defence (Tish, Rach, Jackie and Asa) tightened up and did not want to let another goal go in. The whole team just started to play so well that you could tell that we were going to score another goal and we did. Caz managed to cross a brilliant ball in to Hils who hit the ball so well that we all thought it was in but one of their defenders cleared it off the line and the ball fell to Ana who took all the time in the world to control it with her left foot and then shot with her right foot. 1-2

We continued to play well really well and then the ref blew for half time.

In the second half, we continued to play well, Ana had a couple of runs down the left and kept getting fouled but the ref never gave anything. Hils had a brilliant shot that was just saved by the goalie and again the ref gave the ball to them instead of giving us a corner. Their number 99 (yellow boots or white boots, make up your mind) got the ball near our box and after a couple of touches managed to get a shot on target and score. 2-2

After that number 99 never really got the ball again because Jackie wouldn't let her, getting the ball first and making brilliant tackles. We were having some difficulty with our thrown ins on the right because Caz and Ale were being double marked. We should have had at least 1 penalty when one of their defender hit the ball with her hand and when Hils called for it, the ref gave a freekick to them.

There was some lovely play between Hils, Dina, Caz and Ale from which we nearly scored. Number 99 got the ball and managed to cross it but Rach and Tish did a lovely dummy with each other and with their attackers and ball went out to Caz who let the ball roll for some time and then just when their winger was closing her down, she hit a long ball to Ale who ran towards goal and shot, which the goalie just managed to save. The ball then landed to Lokke who controlled the ball well and then hit the ball in the goal. 2-3

With 6 minutes remaining, we never let them settle on the ball and we looked like we could have scored another goal. When the ref blew for full time, we were all so happy to take 6 points off of them this season...
