BUFC Ladies

Match Report: 17/02/2008
KFC Pulle - BUFC Ladies (0-13)

Despite Pulle being bottom of the league there were still nerves in the BUFC camp

A glorious sunny Sunday afternoon saw BUFC ladies heading, well somewhere up North. Five Via Michelin print outs, 'dalmation print' cyclists, red windmills, several small villages and absolutely no brothels with exotic names in sight, we were in Pulle.

Despite KFC (was this linked to the chicken pens in the ground?) Pulle being bottom of the league there were still nerves in the BUFC camp. After all, Liverpool had suffered in the hands of Barnsley the day before and a local derby match was taking place at the ground which had attracted the whole of Pulle and possibly Vlaams Brabant.

BUFC started off quickly and clinically, well so much so that some excellent passing down the right, a glorious pass from Caz into the circle and some action, led to Asa putting the ball into the left hand side of the goal and scoring her first BUFC ladies goal!

BUFC heads were up. All over the pitch there were some lovely triangles, many of which involving Hils who was literally everywhere. Fabbi and Ana were consistently pressuring the defence, with the former slotting in a cool goal with the goal keeper committed. Hils added in a beautiful volley and Caz an infamous power shot!

Fair play to Pulle, their goalie was outstanding and saved what seemed two point five million shots (mind you she has had some practice bless her). The number 7 was also pretty good, especially at distributing the ball, well until she decided to take on our very own Carvahlo, Jacksters and came off the worse. The defence had little to do but when the ball did make it into the half it was skillfully sent back in again by Rach. The half ended 5-0 and Franci had touched the ball once.

The second half started saw Pulle starting strongly with some super subs. However after about 5 mins, BUFC were attacking again, with our very own super sub Lokke. Caz and Hils soon completed their hat tricks and Tish gave the supporters another performance of her KK Bekkeevort goal celebrations following a superb strike from the right. Now, our super brilliant striker had so far not hit the back of the net despite running poor Pulle ragged. However, she was able to get her leg onto the end of a sweet corner at the end to take the score into double figures. The final whistle went and once again BUFC ladies were back to winning ways (and a positive goal difference).
