REMISE GENERAL FOR GAMES FOR SATURDAY FEB 4 ALL GAMES OFF

Leonard Oddie

Some sad news to report. One of our old players, Leonard Oddie passed away on 14th January. Len was one of our original members and played a leading part in the formation of the club. It's fair to say that without his, and a few like-minded individuals, efforts the club might not exist today. Len was also Chairman of BUFC from 1977 to 1979. Our condolences, and best wishes, go out to his son Danny and to the rest of the family at this difficult time

Star performers this week are the Ladies who win 5-0 against KWeBbels Langdrop without kicking a ball (Forfeit win). Nevertheless, great individual performers from Tish, Ingvill and Pippa who make a good fist of drinking the bar dry. Elsewhere, largely a weekend to forget. Our match-up against St. Georges ends up in 2 draws and 2 defeats. Both the 1sts and the 3rds come from 2 down to rescue 2-2 draws. However, the 2nds lose 0-2 and the 1st Vets go down 0-4. The 2nd Vets lose 0-3 to old rivals, Ramblers.

Bonanza week for the club with 4 teams winning. The 1sts continue their impressive run with a 5-1 victory of Besace. The 2nds do even better winning 5-0 against La Lunette. The 1st Vets also beat Besace 4-1 and the 2nd Vets secure a 2-0 against Watermael. The 3rds draw 1-1 against Sayano. The only blot on an excellent weekend is 0-1 reverse for the Ladies away to FC Sfeerbergen.

As ABSSA declared last Saturday, 'National Sales Shopping Day', the Ladies were the only team in action. Unfortunately, they lost 0-1 to VK Wakkerzeel but I'm reliably informed that it was a pretty good performance. We should all be back in action this week so let's have a clean sweep of victories.
